!!!!!!!!!!I write this to warn ppl about this place!!!!!!!!

I recently moved from Cali to attend Rice University this Semester and i was getting situated before i would start playing paintball again. Well My first field and my first MISTAKE was PAINTBALL BONANZA. Reasons....

1.Damn i entered a Newbie day Care!

2.Prices are Crazy... they dont want you to play this sport!

3.I waited over two hours (two F*@#ing hours) for a game. They were so concerned about there PRIVATE GAMES that ppl paid money to get refed they left a handful of custumers waiting. They are money concerned ppl who would rather let ppl wait that long for a game. So i left not knowing how long the rest of the ppl waited for a next game.

4. Workers Sucks. I keep asking hey whens the next OPEN game kept on sayin a few minutes. i then went and talk to some old dude probably the owner and he basically blew me off and told me to wait he left and went to check on the private game.

5. when i left to pay i was the first in line and this fat chick was talking on the phone then hung up to text her friend about some movie time. WTF she looked at me and and kept on texting, took minutes.

6. I went there to experience a taste of houston action and i got the worst paintball experience ever. i paid a crazy amount for the fees and paint and got no playing time.

I hope these ppl get closed bc they are more concerned about money than the sport of Paintball!!!!

What Field do ya recommend?

Zone only has one real tournament field and SOMETIMES have an airball set-up. Id suggest going to Tanks, Mikes Paintball Mania, or Black Mountain for cheaper prices and more experienced players than Bonanza. Bonanza isnt really that bad of a place if your new to the sport or whatnot. They are very VERY safety oriented thus making play time a little longer. I think you just had one bad experience, dont lose all confidence in a REC-ball field.

Come on out to Tanks. Since your'e from Cali im willing to bet you play tournements. If so Tanks is for you. He has some of the best fields around, the best prices, great staff, and great atmosphere. That is where alot of teams come to practice. If you come on a sunday you will usualy find plaeny of teams to play against. So try it out. The link to the site is in my sig. Also you might want to check here (http://www.paintballscene.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1517)

Twisted games fo texas is a great field. one of the only feilds that doesn't have a byop fee. paint is cheap startin at 40.00 bucks a case. 12.00 entry fee if you have all your own stuff. free air and c02 ALL DAY. thay are really good at gettin games going every 5-10 min. privity groups get there on ref. and work around the main group. then kim (the owner) she lets the tourament players brake off the main group and play the tourament fields as long as thay want as long thay brake for main group. thay are about to have sup-air up in 2-3weeks. twisted has 8 fields that are played (1 encluding the sup.) 3 tourament fields 5 rec fields. everthing bad said about twisted is most likley when JOHN owned the field. kim has really taken twisted to a new level. if this field is not the best ALL around field in houston, its at the top of the list. check them out at www.twistedgames.net . from a player that loves the game

but think about goin to tanks last sunday and letting 200 peeps run back and fourth on all his fields of course there ganna be muddy for a while .
i still say go to zone

Tanks is the place to be. If you want to play some indoor sup air, then check out black mountain. But Tanks is my favorite.

The only thing i don't like about bonanza is their pricing, other than that i kinna like it. I was there for D-day scenario game today and it was pretty fun. They had land MINES!!! set up randomly on the field, unfortunitly i stepped on one. It was more funny than it is scary. Took a couple of steps into the wood and next thing i know there is a bang!!! so i thought my tank just blow up or something. Next thing i know there was a ref was hiding somewhere yelling out MINES!!! so i have to walk off until resurrection. If your are fine with getting down and dirty in the wood, wear a long sleaves shirt because u will get scratch up with twigs and barded wires.

I was the kid with the grey T-shirt using the Blue electra DX. The asian guy with the blue electra was me. I was on the allied team with the white ribbon on the second half. The one that dropped my gun running for the flag and got lit up about 5 times (stupid btw). I saw lots of cockers there, but you were prolly on the other side of the field.

For everyone who has stated something about not going to Tanks if you are alone and looking to play tourney ball.
All you need to do is ask. Everyone at the field is friendly and well is more than willing to add another play to the game. Everyone comes out to learn something new and to have fun shooting people or getting shot.

I bet if anyone of you comes up and asks to play with a group of tourney players they will be more than willing to have you jump in.

I have known Paintball Bonanza and have played there longer than most of you guys have been playing paintball. (I saw a highschool sign saying welcome class of 2008 so now I am feeling old). Anyways not to rag on anyone who hasnt played as long as me but it is to show how long I have been at bonanza. It is (imho) the best rec field in Houston, and better than any rec field I have played at in the United States. There are two things to look at. First, to many people in Houston are spoiled on BYOP. With the exception of Cali very few places have a field if any that is byop. Most places it is unheard of. I understand the point that everyone wants to play for free but the workers and owners are out to make money. It IS a BUSINESS. (You can't go buy a dodge viper for $5,000 because EVERYONE should own a viper). Its sounds stupid but is very similar. Also, Bonanza mows the fields, is constantly trimed, Trails are always being cut back (and trust me in the summer cutting trails is no fun.)Second, it IS a REC Field. Bonanza has been open longer than most Houston fields and there is a reason for that. They cater to rec ballers who are entering the game. This is their target crowd. If you are use to Cali style tourney ball it is prob not the best choice in town. I have done the rec scene and the tourney scene and enjoy both. I love going out to Tanks and shooting John from OC (hahahha) and remembering when he fryed his spyder at the first BSG Mudbowl (btw John a friend of mine still has that blue and sliver cocker I let you borrow) And all the people who still play I grew up playing tourney ball with. On the other side I take a trip out to Bonanza more than anywhere else because I can just go relax and have a good time. Let some 10yo who has never played before and thinks my gun shoots "SO FAST" play a few games with it. Or give my extra pod when I leave to some newb. Its has a variety of fields you cant find anywhere else. You also have to look at what you get for your money. Remember when you pay the price for a case of paint your buying a service not just paint. You wouldn't take your own beef to Buger King and have them cook you a Burger. When you get off the field and go into the staging area you get a a reff to use real goggle spray to clean your lens. If you chopped a ball they all have squegees to clean your barrel. You don't run through ant mounds becase durring the week they are taken care of with Amdro. As far as not running enough games or if you experience bad reffing talk to the MANAGER. He is always out there and willing to help. If you sit quiet and don't say anything you can't complain. As far as saying "that old guy" did you ask for the manager and was he the one pointed out to you? I can bet you anything it would have been fixed if you would have spoke to the manager. Another thing, it is one thing to post something good or bad about a field on the boards. It is your right to express yourself. It is another thing to slander. When you talk about "some fat chick" you burn alot of bridges. I can call you 100 names on here but whats the point. You need to mature a little more because that is just childish. If you want to talk smack feel free to talk it to me. If you have a concern let someone know who can take care of it. But when you start talking shit about good friends and expect no one on this board to know who your talking about your wrong. I encourage you to grow up, mature, edit your post. I am not saying you have to agree with me that Bonanza is the best rec field I have ever played at but take out the slander and use constructive critisim and explain what was wrong and why you think people shouldn't play there. If you want to flame me feel free to my email isUltraevilpaint@aol.com and you can AIM me on that name as well.

Most of us don't have infinate money to play and most of us don't play woodsball. Bonanza is not set up for tourney ballers and that's why no one on these forums plays there (the majority of us are tourney ballers). Ask Ben (the owner) and he will tell you the exact same thing.
