Yes you can but you'd better do it early. If you wait too long, they might put you on a different team in order to balance things out.

I tried to but if you was going to slow you would come to a stop cause of the ground not being level and all the rocks & ruts.

Green team did keep control of both tanks about 80 % of the time on both days. If i got shot by a laws rocket id just go out and come back in and work to get my tank back.

If ya want to talk about cheating we could talk about the fake mission card that Blue team thought would be funny to run. Green team lost alot of points cause of that mission. Green team had completed alot of missions and had lots of props in the tower that Blue team took with that fake mission card.

But hey it was all in fun and i had a blast and I am not complaining.

Green team i though did really well and beat back blue and red team all day on sat till that fake mission card got played.

So me driving alittle fast and wooping up on blue with the tank lol i think they deserved it lol it was all in fun and i had a blast.

If you didnt go to Gears of war you really missed out on alot of fun. Try to make the next one. If somone needs a tank driver let me know. lol

I want to thank everyone that came out to the game.
We had around 270 players and the game was a blast.

Tanks running all over the field, pyro, loads of paint being shot, great fajitas Friday ( Thanks Tank) and one heck of a hard fought game.
Players from as far away as New York and Florida were there.

The Gears of War video game tourney was cool and Epic games stepped up and provided great prizes for that.

We had a grenade throw contest, and much more.
If you were there , thanks for coming If you missed it? you really missed out

Would you mind clarifying that fake mission card? I'm not disputing you, its just that I was on the blue team and part of the initial assault on the MOUT to take control of it and gather props the first day. I heard something about the head ref and Runningman, but I didn't follow what went down. Thanks. Something that really helped out the blue team was catching the red team with all their props on day one way under guarded so the blue team was able to sieze them shortly before the point count at the dinner break.

LOL....you guys were giving us hell with those tanks....i had to dive for cover several times when they came rolling up. Actually one of the tanks died on the field....probabely got paint into the motor with as much fire as they took ;) The drivers took a lot of abuse in those things.

That game was a lot of fun overall.

One more thing: Thank you Tank for getting us more paint on Saturday night, commanding the Locusts, and representing Archon there!

A good friend and well known scenario player Chuck a.k.a. The Running Man played the fake mission card. It basically stated that once used, every enemy player in a large area was eliminated, including the ones inside buildings.

That's just scenario paintball people. You'll see stuff that are not in the rulebook and the experienced teams and players on the blue team know all about loopholes and backdoors and they exploited it.

Great game nonetheless. Tank and Archon paintball are on board for all of Viper's scenario events for the 2008 season so you scenario newbies should use this oppurtunity to give it a try. Scenario paintball is some of the most fun you will EVER have.

ah...i see....thanks, Shadowjin. This was the 3rd scenario I've been in and I still have a lot to learn about it. I use to play a lot of speedball; I don't think any one style (speedball vs woodsball vs scenario) is better, each style is just different and can make for a lot of fun. If you haven't tried these things you should, doesn't mean you have to give up speedball, just fun to play something different.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr yea see that fake mission card cost us (GREEN) alot of points.

Blue got all red teams props when they had to switch sides. Blue was smart or (they new ) they where going to have to switch sides. I think they just new. So they had there props hid so red team could not find them. So blue ended up with all reds props and they sent guys back down to get there props from the other side. (very clever ) then blue took all greens props with the fake mission card.

Blue ended up with alot of points at the end of the day on Sat

Green and red made a alliance to counter Blues sneaky ways and Blue did not complete one mission during the night.

Blue team got tag teamed on sunday too. Till the final battle. Then they played smart Most of there players saved there paint for the last 30 mins of the final battle where blue made a big push.

I took 3 guys and pushed to the back of blue when they made there push in the final 15 min and shot alot of guys in the back. lol

Then the guys we shot went out and came back in to get us.

I think blue ended up with one blue stick on one helicopter. My brother pulled the red stick down on the other one. with a dead man walk and a mad dash

It was all fun though and if you have never played a 2 day event like this you really should try it.

We (blue) moved our props WHEN we switched sides....some of us (myself included) moved the props in a small band quietly across the field, while the rest attacked the killhouse and were fortunate that the red team hadn't moved them out already. We were surprised to find all the red teams props still there. On the tactical forum site, there are a few stories about it under "kill house antics". On the final battle...i seem to recall both poles bearing the blue color (i was at the eastern helo when the game ended....across from both the poles), we had pushed really hard to control that area....i shot more paint in the final battle than almost the whole game combined. The poles bore the red color for almost the entire final battle, but during that final push the blue took control of the area immediately around the helos. It was hard earned.

savagekidscoach

YOu may be correct i was going by what i was told.

I new what yall was doing i seen the push in the last 30 min and i new blue would get to the helos. Thats why i made the push to get to the back side of blue.

Red and green both was fighing really hard the first hr of the final battle alot of those guys ran out of paint. I told guys that blue was smart and was saving there paint for the last 30 min .

But what can one guy do. Green was in the middle and you cant fight two teams at the same time.

If Green would of been smart they would of let red and blue both fight and not shot one paintball till the last 30 min of the game and made sure that every one of there players was on the field during that last 30 min.

Green should of sent 5 guys to the back of both teams when green made there push to the helos in the last 30 min .

by leting blue and red fight for the first hr there would of been less of them on the field in the last 30 min .

Green would of had more paint to shoot but if you dont have the air to shoot the paint what good is it.

Blue team went out with enough air per person to shoot 2000 balls each. How do you fight a team that has played so many events like this. they new what it takes to win and they did just that. They all played as a team and had a game plan

Go blue yall played smart and thats why yall won . The fake mission card goes to show ya Viper will do anything to win.

But you know what win lose or draw that was one of the most fun i have had playing paintball in many yrs.

I played vipers monty pythons holy grail many yrs back at paintball usa it to was a blast .

If you have never played a 2 day viper event you are really missing out on alot of fun.

Honestly...i have mixed feelings about that fake mission card....

I have wanted to play a viper event for YEARS and will definitely be going to at least one this year. That is the main reason i wanted to be on the blue team ....to be generaled by viper and see his experience on the field; i figured that if he was creating pb scenario games that he'd be a force to reckon with as a commander. i don't think you and i crossed paths at this event but i hope to run into you at a future event

1) There was no "fake mission card." It was simply a weapon card. The ref should have called it in and asked, and the staff should have given them a referee orientation. Not slamming them, just stating facts. From what I understand it was a "SAM missile card."

2) The comments impying I had inside info are unfair. Do you really think that Jon wanted me to come out and beat his home teams?

3) The props: I have played scenario paintball since it's creation. There are a handful of players out there today, literally, who can say that. I have learned alot in all those years. One of those is that you never, ever keep your props in your base. As soon as we got the mission to go to the other base I sent a major force out to the west tape and around, while I took a small group that was inserting and went and found Jon and asked if the insertions were switching and if this was a semi-permanent swap. He confirmed my suspicions and we immediately went to our new insertion to claim it and send any COGS to their new insertion. We scored another cache of props but it was, honestly, about half the amount we already had. So, while you may want to think there was some crazy plot, shenanigans, or playing outside the rules...it was just a better play.

4) "The fake mission card goes to show ya Viper will do anything to win." That is just rude, and an insult to my honor. It implies that I would cheat if I had too. I knew nothing about Runnin Man's antics until it was brought up at the briefing. Seriously.

You username implies that you are a coach of a team. You might consider less use of excuses and more of the honest kudos you presented aside from the above issues. Teaching your players to win, and lose, with diginity is a big part of any coaches job.

I am so sorry if i said any thing to make it seem like you or your team cheated. That was not what i was trying to say.

I did not mean that you knew there was going to be a switch. What i ment was you have been around long enough to know how things go and that there could be a switch. Im sure you new that in past events things like the switch have happend.

I do think i worded it wrong and should not of said it like i did.

As for as the fake mission card the way i see it is you have been doing this for a real long time and you and your players know how to do things and have seen things that most have not.

I hope you realize that i was braging on you and your skill as a team leader. When i said that you want to win. As a coach of speedball teams it is always my mission to win every game that me or my team play. At no time in my post was i griping about how the game went this weekend.
I even said win lose or draw that Gears was the most fun ive had playing paintball in many yrs.

Please for give me for any thing that i said in my post that you took offence to.

I had a great time at Gears of war meet alot of great people on all sides Blue red and green. I cant wait to hit the next Viper event. (is there any chance you might need a good tank driver lol )

I hope this clears up my last post and there is no hard feelings.

Apology gladly accepted...and mine offered for misunderstanding. If I was a bit thin-skinned about what I read it's mostly due to the amount of excuse-tossing from some of the grunts on the red and green sides. There are few things more disappointing than to pull off a good, fair win against overwhelming odds, only to have people attempt to detract from it by saying that you didn't deserve it, or only won because of some unethical or unsportsmanlike tactics.

But kudos to the many who have displayed exemplary behavior and offered compliments and congratulations. I promise that I will do the same if I should happen to get beat out there as a commander. :p

I must send thanks out to thise for this weekend.

Duhon-Thanks for your hospitality, you and your guys made us feel very wlecome and even when I got a little "over served" and rowdy on Friday.

Tank-Thanks for fun time.

Viper- Blue team kept us busy and were a great opponent to play against.

Mike- You were the man on the field. You always kept us informed and it was great being the gunner in your go cart. Got a lot kills and shot lots paint.

I must say that the only unpleasant event I witnessed was from a player on my own locust side. I didn't see any of the other mentioned activities. My only displeasure with the event was I felt a lack of organization. I played a large event out at Tactical before and it made me want to come back. This event however has left a void from what I felt before. I was unpleased with the batch of paint that was there. I have shot this paint before and do feel that this was a bad batch but oh well. I do feel that the lack of strong refs before game day lead to some disorganization, but the refs managed and did an ok job. The bickering and arguments amongst players is expecting but some of the issues I felt could have been handled better. Scenario paintball from my experiences is a battle of wits and intelligence. I hold nothing against any of the moves that were made, bud I do feel the organization of this event could have been better prepared.
