I have been playing rec-ball all the time. A quik question, i would love to start playing tourney-ball but, my pockets are not too deep. Right now i have Triad for VL (hey i got for $40 so i am not complaining) i plan to do some hopups to it.Anyways, what is better getting on a established team or starting a new one ? I plan to come see the HRL event on the 29th. Thanks for any help.

it would probaly be easier for you to get on an existing team. Also i would seriously consider not upgrading your triad. But rather get a different gun. I would suggest the BKO from ICD. they run around 300 dollars, but are well woth it. You will be happier with a better diffent gun, than you would if you upgraded your triad.

yeah and as much as you hear it, dont buy a cocker unless it's ebladed, or you're going to get it e-bladed. i dont mean to rag on cockers or their owners, but mechanical cockers just DONT keep up with today's electros. like will said, buy an ICD..not a bad gun for the price. and dont buy an impulse because you'll spend more money on its parts than playing. hope what i've said helped. late.

I also would suggest to just save up for high end gun and buy that. Don't waste your money trying to upgrade the low end electros. Our team went with spyders last season (due to low funds) and put some upgrades. Although we didn't do horrible in the tournaments, is became painfully obvious that we needed better guns.

trying to stay on topic with your original question, I'd say that if you've already got a few buddies that want to play tourney ball, that you should just start your own team, but if not, look for an established team that's looking to expand.

and to agree with everyone on here, I'd have to say dont upgrade whatever gun that is(never heard of it....sorry). I'd suggest looking around on pbnation.com, paintball-guns.com, and other online resale sites. that is were you're going to find the best deals. And when you go to look, don't buy the first one you find....look around, you can find some great deals if you look long enough.

Looks like Will and Ryan are catching on to the whole ICD being cheaper and better than an imp... But I also agree, check out the 2k4 ICD BKO at Shorepaintballsupplies.com or Paintballgear.com. But, unless you have an anti siphon tank and palmers stabilizer on it, youll need to also get a N2 tank.

go to the paintball gear store in houston and talk to them, they can hook you up with everything you need.

also, i would go play out at tanks a few weekends, see how your skillz are compared to everyone elses, and then once you feel comfortable, go to the tuesday/thursday night games and see how you compare to people from very good tournament teams, find out when a team is having tryouts, then to try out. don't start a team with your buddies. if you start losing, everyone will get pissed off, then yall will get mad at each other, and i would n't let a game potentially ruin my friendships.

Tuesday has been moved to Thursday and come on out we will help you all we can. You might want to try the OC class on the 14th to help out and you probably will find some people to play with or start a team. Give it a try.
